Heisey produced over 30 colors during their 63 years of production. This chart is being created to assist you in understanding what each color actually looks like. We will continue to add examples as we obtain additional items. Please click on thumbnail picture, to see an actual example of that color. | ||

| Description- light Lavender color, often with distinct red highlights on the edges. This is a dichromatic color. When seen under fluorescent light, the lavender color takes on a light blue or gray appearance. | ||

| Description- a pale amber color often referred to as Honey amber. Produced periodically but was not a major production color. Very few items were made in this "Honey" color. Refer also to the Harvey & Sultana Ambers. | ||

| Description- While Heisey often combined a color with crystal, it rarely used two glass colors for one item. Two color combinations seen are Flamingo/Moongleam, Moongleam/Hawthorne, Sahara/Alexandrite, and Zircon/Sahara. Any two color combination is considered to be scarce. | ||

| Description- An experimental cranberry pink color made by dissolving actual gold into the glass batch. Three items are known: A #3390 Cassonne water pitcher, a #338 carnation vase, & a #442 Janice vase. The pink color is mottled with clear glass in the last two items. | ||

Color Name- Imperial Colors | Years Produced- 1958-1965 | |
| Description- Imperial Glass Company acquired the Heisey molds in late 1957. The production of "Heisey" items marked with the Diamond "H" trademark in Imperial colors often creates confusion with today's collectors, especially in scarce Heisey colors like Alexandrite, Dawn, & Limelight. | Description- an opaque, somewhat translucent medium yellow glass. The darker shade (which closely resembles a custard color) is Ivorina Verde. The lighter shade is considered to be Ivory. | ||

| Description- re-introduction of the earlier Zircon color. There does not appear to be any difference between the two. The pattern of the items determines if it is Limelight or Zircon. | ||

| Description- a vibrant transparent yellow-orange color with shades of yellow-green at its edges. Problems with the formula resulted in the glass becoming quite unstable. It often develops crazing and even shatters without warning. | ||

| Description- Heisey did not produce slag glass. An experimental #4157 Steele rose bowl was made in an opaque tangerine slag. Items often considered to be Heisey's Slag glass were actually produced by the Imperial Glass Company using Heisey molds. Even though the item may have the Diamond "H" trademark, it was made by Imperial not Heisey. | ||

| Description- Early patterns are often found with an addition Amber or Red color applied over crystal. Along with the gold, they are considered a decoration. | ||

| Description- a transparent glowing orange color very much like the fruit. This is a struck color, which means the true color does not appear until the glass is reheated when it then takes on a red-orange appearance. Since the color is heat dependent, items range from a nice orange to a deep almost red. Some items take on an amberina shading. | ||
